About

Established 1972

The Friends of the Tenley-Friendship Library, established in 1972, was the first “Friends” group in the D.C. Public Library system. Originally, the Friends was formed to advocate for the continuation of the second floor children’s room. The Friends of Tenley-Friendship Library participates in the DC Federation of Friends, a city-wide association of Friends councils.
